Primary Responsibilities
In this role, you will be charged with providing high-level project management for the Associate Dean for External Affairs, and will play a central role in advising leadership and colleagues on projects and initiatives designed to meet and exceed our fundraising goals. As our Project Manager, you will provide high-level data analytics, content creation, tracking and reporting, and assist leadership in making consistent decisions, as well as be responsible for necessary follow-up. Applying skills, experience and analytical techniques, you will assess programmatic initiatives, evaluate strategic alternatives, and formulate sound operational recommendations across the complete lifecycle of advancement projects. You will meet with the Associate Dean on a regular basis and build and maintain relationships on their behalf that expand partnerships and strengthen development opportunities. As the Project Manager, you will communicate with internal and external constituents at all levels, work with colleagues at the Law School and campus-wide and will prepare briefing materials for high-level development visits and events that leadership attends. You will also work with the Associate Dean and colleagues to systematically and regularly share information to further development strategies. You will perform high-level mission and program related assistance to the Associate Dean in support of the Dean, Chancellor and other External Affairs, UCLA, and UCLA Law leadership. You will serve as a liaison for special projects, and as an advisor and partner to UCLA Law External Affairs colleagues on approaches that enhance donor and prospect experiences, with a focus on exemplary customer-service and proactive planning. Qualifications
1. Minimum of four years of experience in a highly constituent-driven environment, preferable in donor engagement or providing project/administrative support to a senior level executive in higher education or related field such as sales, marketing or business development.
2. Experience providing a high level of customer service and responding to inquiries in a prompt and efficient manner; ability to deliver exemplary customer service to a wide variety and level of constituents with tact, diplomacy and mature judgment.
3. Demonstrated ability to strategically partner with executive management, volunteers, and faculty and work effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization.
4. Strong background in time and project management including identifying and setting priorities, setting needs analysis, identifying stakeholders, developing action plans, segmenting projects and initiatives into their component parts and managing the process from inception to completion.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills with strong understanding and ability to develop and sustain collaborative and dynamic relationships with a highly diverse and wide range of internal and external constituents.
6. Outstanding written and oral communications skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of internal and external constituents.
7. Demonstrated high level of personal integrity, discretion and diplomacy; skilled in using sound judgment in situations requiring independent initiative and tact and in handling confidential matters and sensitive information
8. Ability to work with speed, accuracy and attention to detail, highly organized with a strong ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
9. Highly motivated and goal-oriented self-starter, proactive and able to work equally well independently and collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining an upbeat and positive attitude.
10. Creative and resourceful with ability to work efficiently in a large, complex organization.
11. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; confident in making decisions and adept at managing many perspectives, solving problems and working toward successful outcomes.
12. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft suite of applications as well as familiarity with other database, spreadsheet, scheduling and email applications; willingness to learn new programs and applications in a prompt and efficient manner.
13. Working knowledge of External Affairs, Development, University, and campus organization and principles, policies and procedures is preferred.
14. Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
15. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
